FabProfit System video cover: Did you price the whole job?

See the work that gets missed, how the method helps, and what comes with your system.

Read a practical estimating lesson

Before you trust the hours, check all five parts of the work.

A handrail estimate can include cutting, fitting and welding, yet still miss work your shop has to do. Your labour estimate needs room for each of these:

Touch time
Cutting, drilling, fitting, welding and grinding.
Setup time
Reviewing drawings, planning the sequence, setting up the saw and jigs.
Movement time
Unloading, staging, flipping, rehandling and loading out.
Control time
Measuring, trial fits, inspection and documentation.
Friction time
Awkward access, waiting, weather and other job conditions.

Use it on your next quote: follow the job from receiving to loadout, put each activity in one category and check what is missing. Avoid counting the same activity twice.

The missing work still happens

A full shop can still leave you short.

The handling nobody carried. The extra trip to site. The vendor cost that grew after award. Your business absorbs the work that never made it into the price.

01 / LABOUR

The weld is only part of the hours.

Setup, fitting, movement, inspection, and field conditions all need a place in the estimate.

02 / SCOPE & BUYOUT

The drawing is only part of the job.

Stock, finishing, freight, outside work, and responsibility gaps can all change the cost of delivery.

03 / PRICE & QUOTE

A good number needs a clear promise.

Margin, assumptions, exclusions, and changes need to agree with the work you are committing to do.

FabProfit gives your team a consistent way to bring those decisions into view before the quote goes out.

A process your business can keep

Build an estimating system your whole team can use.

A system simply means having clear steps for how you build and check a quote. FabProfit helps you learn those steps, apply them to your shop, and document the decisions behind the price.

Your people have a method to follow, a way to check their work, and something to improve as they learn from completed jobs.

  1. Learn the method
  2. Apply it to your shop
  3. Write down how you work
  4. Improve with each job

For new hires

Give them a clear place to start.

Use the training and your shop's documented process to show new people what to look for, what to include, and when to ask. Give them a reference they can return to while they learn.

For your existing team

Make their experience easier to share.

Capture the assumptions, checks, and lessons your experienced people use. A shared method makes it easier to review estimates, explain decisions, and hand work to someone else.

For the business

Keep the knowledge in the business.

A documented process reduces reliance on one person's memory. That builds practical value into your business: knowledge that can be taught, checked, and passed on as your team grows or changes.

In practice: Another person can open an estimate and understand the scope, the hours allowed, the pricing assumptions, and what still needs checking.

Who this is not for

Before you enrol,
make sure this fits.

FabProfit is built for commercial fabrication, where the hours, materials, and promises in your quote have to hold up when the job reaches the shop floor.

Save your money if...

  • You are pricing hobby or DIY projects.

The system is built around paid crews, material purchases, outside work, and customer commitments.

  • You want a magic button that prices the job for you.

You still need to read the drawings, question the scope, and check your inputs. The calculator supports your judgment.

  • You are not willing to put the method to work.

Downloading a workbook will not change your results. You need to apply the lessons, review the numbers, and learn from completed jobs.

Built for people responsible for the quote

A real job.
A number you can explain.

  • Shop owners who want a repeatable estimating process that can be taught and checked.
  • Estimators who want a clear basis for the scope, hours, costs, and selling price.
  • People taking on estimating responsibility who need practical steps to follow on actual fabrication work.

You do not need decades of estimating experience. You do need a willingness to work through the details.

01 / The training at the heart of FabProfit

Know what to look for.
Know what to carry in the price.

Eleven core lessons, including separate shop and field labour lessons, teach you how to work through a fabrication estimate from the first drawing to the final quote. Learn the decisions behind the number so you can use the process on the work your shop actually builds.

Understand the scope

See the work, responsibilities, and gaps behind the drawing.

Build the cost

Account for labour, material, and outside work.

Protect the margin

Make deliberate decisions about risk and selling price.

Meet the person behind FabProfit

Meet Greg:
why I built FabProfit.

I'm Greg Sheldon. I built FabProfit from more than 25 years in fabrication, welding, shop management, sales, and estimating.

When estimating got busy, I needed a repeatable way to work through the job and keep the details together. That experience became the foundation of FabProfit.

My aim is practical: help you understand the work behind the price and build a method your business can teach, check, and improve.

The cost of leaving things as they are

One missed cost
can exceed US$997.

You have seen what comes with FabProfit. Now put the investment beside what one gap in an estimate can cost your shop.

01 / An outdated material price

US$1,200

Unpriced material increase

US$15,000 material buy × 8% increase

If you are committed to the selling price and have to absorb the increase, that US$1,200 comes out of the job’s margin.

02 / One extra day on site

US$1,560

Unpriced labour cost

3 people × 8 hours × US$65/hour loaded labour cost

One extra crew day you cannot bill for. That is before any additional equipment rental, travel, or delivery costs.

03 / The estimating bottleneck

Another
late night.

Your time has a cost, too.

Rebuilding calculations. Chasing missing scope. Rechecking a quote because the assumptions were never written down.

What does another week of that take away from running the shop, winning work, or getting home?

Illustrative examples in US dollars, using the material increase and loaded labour rate shown.

Give the next quote a better process.

Use FabProfit to check the scope, build the cost, question the hours, and explain the price before you commit. Start with a job you know and put the method to work.

Time to decide if it fits your shop

Explore FabProfit.
Decide with confidence.

Go through the training, explore the community and try the included resources. If FabProfit is not the right fit, email Greg directly at gregwsheldon@gmail.com within 30 days of your initial enrolment for a full refund of what you have paid.

No completed worksheets. No proof of results. No lengthy explanation.

How the 30-day money-back guarantee works

The 30-day period starts on your initial enrolment date and applies to either payment option. Email gregwsheldon@gmail.com within that period with the name and email used to enrol. Your request qualifies based on when you send the email, even if it is processed later.

Greg handles refund requests personally. We will refund all amounts paid for the initial system purchase and cancel any remaining instalments. A refund ends your training and community access and your licence to use the included downloads. Delete downloaded copies after your refund.

The guarantee applies once to the initial purchase. It does not restart with each instalment and does not cover later community renewal charges. Cancelling an optional community membership without refunding the system does not remove your purchased training or downloads.

Before you get started

A few practical questions.

What if FabProfit is not right for my shop?

You have 30 days from enrolment to request a full refund of what you have paid. Email gregwsheldon@gmail.com within that period with your enrolment name and email. Greg handles the request personally. There are no lesson-completion or proof-of-results requirements. Remaining instalments are cancelled with the refund. Read the guarantee details.

How do the two payment options work?

Pay US$997 once, or make three monthly payments of US$349 for a total of US$1,047. Choose either option on the order page (opens in a new tab). With the payment plan, the first payment is due at enrolment, followed by two more monthly payments. Both options cover the same training, bonuses, included tools, and first year of community access for one learner. The plan ends after three payments; it is not an ongoing subscription.

Will this help an experienced estimator?

It can give an experienced estimator a shared structure for scope, cost, risk, and quote review. The training helps you examine the decisions behind your estimate, explain its basis, and build a process you can repeat.

Can we use it alongside our existing spreadsheets or ERP?

You can use the method and references alongside your current process. Moving information between V30 and another system requires your own mapping and review. Automatic ERP integration is not included in this offer.

What do I need to use V30?

Use desktop Microsoft Excel for the macro-enabled workbook and its macro tools. Review your company's rates, material prices, taxes, and other assumptions before using an estimate commercially.

Do I need to finish every lesson before starting?

Start with the lessons on the estimator's role, drawings, and scope, with a familiar job in mind. Apply the worksheets as you go and work through the remaining modules to build the full process. Use the V30 walkthrough when you start using the included workbook.

How does community membership work?

Both payment options include 12 months of community access from enrolment. After the first year, you will receive an email inviting you to continue at US$29/month. You will not be charged unless you choose to subscribe. You can cancel the monthly membership anytime. Community renewal is separate from the three-payment plan for the system.

What happens if I leave the community?

You keep access to your purchased training and downloads. The optional monthly fee is for continued community membership. You can cancel that membership anytime.

Is the price for one person or our whole company?

The US$997 price, or the three-payment option, covers one learner at any shop size. Additional team seats are sold separately. Ask Greg for team pricing and company-use details. Individual consulting and custom implementation are separate services.

Does FabProfit guarantee a profit or win rate?

No. Results depend on your inputs, judgment, market, and how your team applies the method. FabProfit provides training, tools, and a structured process for making estimating decisions.
